Maine Republicans need to ask themselves one basic question regarding the Governor’s race?
Are we simply looking to elect a Republican, regardless of what that person stands for or what they will do in the position …
Are we looking to elect a Republican who will build on the reforms put in place by Governor Paul LePage, continuing to reduce our welfare rolls, growing private sector employment and leading Maine out of the economic malaise we citizens have faced for almost 40 years
In other words, are we looking for a Republican in name only who really does not share the basic values of the party, but can be elected in a general election with a fairly easy win, or do we want a Republican who will work everyday to push a limited government agenda that believes the best social welfare program is a good-paying private sector job?
With recent news, this is likely the choice Maine Republicans will be asked to make.
