Nashville Recording Artist and New England Native
Returns for Two-Week Tour
Shannon Selig a native of North Yarmouth Maine, 2007 graduate of Greely High school and longtime resident of Boston, MA is coming home to New England with her band for a special two-week tour.
Selig recently relocated to Nashville to work alongside Jim Mayer, long time bassist for Jimmy Buffet and Alan Schulman an award winning record producer. Together Shannon and Jim Mayer co-wrote “Show Me The Light”; a song originally written for two ten-year-old girls who took their own lives because they were bullied in school. The song was released via You-Tube in October to help raise awareness for anti-bullying.
“Show Me The Light” will be a part of Shannon’s first album to be recorded in Nashville. Grammy award winning producer, Alan Schulman has signed on to produce the full-length album due out in February 2013. The funds to create the album are being raised independently by Shannon via the online Kickstarter platform. Supporters and Fans can donate money to the making of the album by selecting a “Thank You Package” and when the album is successfully funded they will receive a package on their front doorstep. If the project doesn’t reach it’s goal the album doesn’t get recorded, no packages are sent out and no credit cards are charged. Packages include Selig’s personal signed guitar, microphones, VIP concert packages, music and much more.
Shannon has gained international recognition for her songwriting and singing, in March of this year Shannon competed and won two awards in Tennessee for her original song “Inside My Heart” and for vocal performance at the show. Selig is also the New England Female Vocalist of the Year and Female Entertainer of the Year; she is up for two more awards in 2013 for her original songs, “Love Like This” and “Dance with You” also to be featured on her new album.
